Recovery from extreme hypothermia in Kraków's hospital
The Washington Post: "Polish toddler found in freezing cold recovering"
12.7 Celsius (54.9 Fahrenheit) was the body temperature of two-year old Adam who was found near Karków in the first days of December. Immediate help in one of Kraków's hospitals has brought him back to life - the world record in the ability to deal with extreme hypothermia in humans. The Adam's case poses a question how ecophysiological studies of animals can help us understand medical issues of human beings. For sure, many of our symposia will contribute to this important discussion.
